History Will Remember: Gaza, Netanyahu, and the Silence of the Powerful

When we look at the ongoing war in Gaza, it is hard not to feel deep sadness, anger, and frustration. Since the war began in 2023, over 59,000 Palestinians have been killed, many of them children and women. Thousands more are missing under the rubble. Hospitals are bombed. Families are starving. Children are drinking dirty water and eating grass just to stay alive.

Why shouldn’t we compare Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler ? Netanyahu is not just setting wrong example for other leaders across the world, but also shows how far leaders can go to destroy lives in the name of power. Hitler caused the deaths of millions in World War II. Netanyahu is leading a war where civilian areas are targeted, entire neighbourhoods are flattened, and innocent people are being treated as enemies. Gaza is now being called an open-air graveyard.

But the world is not just watching. Some are supporting it — and that includes the United States.

The Role of the US

The US government gives billions of dollars in military aid to Israel every year. During this war, they have provided weapons, ammunition, and political support, even when the entire world is calling for a ceasefire. The US used its veto power at the United Nations to block ceasefire resolutions multiple times.

This means the world’s most powerful country is not only watching the killings — it is helping them happen. US should also be held responsible for the deaths in Gaza. When children are starving and hospitals are bombed, world don’t just see Israeli bombs — they see American weapons as well.

A Double Standard?

When Russia invaded Ukraine, NATO countries, including the US and UK, were quick to blame Russia and punish it with sanctions. They sent billions to Ukraine in aid, weapons, and humanitarian support. The world called it a fight for freedom and human rights. No problem at all.

But where is that same energy for Gaza?

Why is it that when Ukrainians suffer, it’s called a humanitarian crisis, but when Palestinians suffer, it’s called “Israel’s right to defend itself”?

Why is NATO so quiet now?

The truth is clear: there is a double standard. And this silence is causing more deaths every single day.

How History Will Judge

History will not forget the images of starving children, bombed schools, and mass graves in Gaza. It will remember the countries that stood by and did nothing — or worse, helped the violence continue. Just like the world now looks back at the horrors of World War and asks, “How did the world let this happen?” — future generations will ask the same about Gaza.

They will ask why countries only blamed Israel, and not the US, for giving them the power to kill without limits.

A Call to Action

It is time for more countries — big and small — to speak up. Not just in words, but with real action.

  • Push for a permanent ceasefire
  • Send humanitarian aid to Gaza with force
  • Stop selling weapons to those who bomb civilians
  • Put sanctions to Israel and countries support it
  • Call out all governments that support this violence, including the US

The world cannot wait. Gaza cannot wait.
Let us choose humanity over politics. Peace over silence.
